RussianHelper

Version 2026-07-26

Privacy notice

RussianHelper uses only the learner information needed to operate secure accounts and save learning progress.

Information we collect

We store your email address, one-way password hash, account-security fields, acceptance timestamps, theme preference, course progress, aggregate practice scores, retained mistake references and remembered-session metadata. Session metadata is limited to a browser summary, approximate network prefix and activity times.

Why we use it

We use this information to authenticate you, confirm ownership of your email, recover your account, prevent abuse, synchronise progress, review mistakes, support account security and meet your export or deletion request.

Browser storage

Theme and device course progress may be stored locally in your browser. Browser progress is untrusted and is imported only after you choose to import it. Authentication uses a Secure, HttpOnly server cookie and is never stored in localStorage.

Providers and hosting

Account and progress data is stored in PostgreSQL on the RussianHelper server. Resend is the planned transactional-email processor for confirmation, recovery and security notices. Encrypted backups may be stored separately for disaster recovery.

Retention and security

Account data is retained while your account is active. Passwords are never recoverable because only salted one-way hashes are stored. Security events and bounded backups may outlive deletion for a limited operational period, but deleted-account security events no longer identify the learner.

Your choices

You can export your stored learner data, revoke remembered sessions, change your email or password, and permanently delete your account from Account settings.
