Смотришь/смотрят and держишь/держат are Type II despite infinitives outside a simple -ить shortcut; бреешь/бреют is Type I despite брить.

  • -ишь with -ят/-ат points to Type II.
  • -ешь with -ют/-ут points to Type I.
  • Use at least two diagnostic forms when the infinitive is misleading.
