Final sibilants and spelling

Masculine short forms ending in ж, ш, ч, or щ do not add a soft sign.

  • The remaining short forms add their regular vowels, subject to stress and spelling. Compare adjective forms with noun and verb conventions rather than importing a soft sign by intuition.
