A second adjective paradigm
Short adjectives are not casual abbreviations: they are a distinct inflectional series used mainly as predicates.
- They agree with the subject in gender and number but do not decline for case. Most productive short forms belong to qualitative adjectives; relative and possessive adjectives usually lack them unless a meaning has become qualitative.
