First names and patronymics
Most Russian first names decline through familiar noun families, but proper-name stress and a few lexical details must be preserved.
- Patronymics decline: Ива́н Ива́нович - у Ива́на Ива́новича - с Ива́ном Ива́новичем; А́нна Ива́новна - у А́нны Ива́новны - с А́нной Ива́новной.
- Respect exact names: Do not normalise or translate a person's name without authority. Preserve the bearer's spelling and verify uncommon names.
