Commands and prohibitions

Interpret aspect in positive and negative commands.

A perfective command often requests one concrete bounded action. An imperfective command can invite activity, routine, or continuation. General negative commands strongly favour imperfective.

  • Говорите!: continue/speak as activity.
  • Не забывай: general prevention.
