Process, repetition, fact, and bounded event
Choose an aspectual viewpoint without reducing perfective to 'successful completion'.
Imperfective can profile an activity, repeated habit, or fact. Perfective normally presents one bounded event as a whole, even when its result is negated.
- Я писал profiles writing as activity/process.
- Я часто писал profiles repetition/habit.
- Я прочитал profiles a bounded reading event.
- Я не прочитал still uses perfective while denying achievement of the boundary.
